IMS was founded in 1989 by Jim Spates, Ron Keenan and Don Frese. Jim, Ron and Don built a strong reputation for themselves while working at Pitney Bowes but were looking for more. IMS was started from scratch with the idea of providing outstanding service to Long Island businesses to fulfill their mailing and shipping needs. Word spread quickly and the company began to grow. To date IMS has provided products and services to over 4,000 companies on Long Island and nationally and employs 35 people from their Hauppauge, NY headquarters.
IMS’ client base is varied and includes everything from prominent Fortune 100 accounts to the single practitioner. Office Dealer Magazine has recognized IMS as one of the nation’s “Top 50” office equipment dealers on numerous occasions. IMS has also been featured by the likes of “The Wall Street Journal” and “Newsday” for their industry proficiency.

In December 2008, IMS joined forces with Neopost/Hasler, their largest supplier at the time. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Neopost USA, IMS truly offers the best of both worlds. Having retained their local management IMS can react to customer needs very quickly and without a lot of red tape. Having the backing of a multi-national corporation affords IMS resources that were previously hard for a local company to support.
